President Marsha Putnam called meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. at the Brown residence.

Directors present: Marsha Putnam, Sue Chant, Pat Brown, Barb Drake, Carrie Barr, Gale Moore, Chanda Donnan, and Gary Fortin.

Directors absent: Lonnie Buck, Jackie Fisher, Mary Mallory, Mike Wood, and Janet Phillips.

Members present: Diane and Myron Karsten

January minutes were read by Carrie Barr. Motion by Gale, support by Gary to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.

Election of Officers: officers are elected from within the members of the Board.
Nominations for president: Marsha Putnam. Motion by Pat, support by Sue for Marsha be the 2010-11 president. Motion carried.
Nominations for vice president: Sue Chant. Motion by Pat, support by Barb for Sue to be the 2010-11 vice president. Motion carried.
Nomination for treasurer: Pat Brown. Motion by Sue, support by Barb for Pat to be the 2010-11 treasurer. Motion carried.
Nomination for secretary: tabled to March meeting to see if Mike would accept the nomination.

Marsha wrote thank you letters to the businesses that donated items for the SHTRA Annual Meeting that was held February 6, 2010. Barb will mail them.

Chanda will make note cards to be used for SHTRA, Barb will send her the logo to be used.

Treasurer’s Report – Pat
- $107 found in the cash box from the Autumn Ride
- 12-month CD matures in July for $15,000; will be renewed for 14 months
- $8,000 moved to a 3-month CD at .3% to earn some interest. Will renew automatically.
- Motion by Sue, support by Gary to make a $50 donation to Victor Township Hall for its use for the 2010 SHTRA Annual Meeting.

Committee Reports:
MHC – Gale
- there will be a pair of twin Clydesdales at the 2010 Michigan Horse Council Expo
- working on updating the abitcus brief to the Supreme Court regarding negligence of/responsibility of horse owners and public to put liability on appropriate shoulders and expand and define the Equine Liability Act.
- applications for grants due in April. Mike has done SHTRA application in the past, he will be contacted to see if he will do it this year. If we receive the grant it will be used for gravel and trail maintenance.
- Expo paperwork is due 3/8 for the table and fees. Pat will send in check for table ($25) plus two badges ($10 ea). We will not share our table with another association.
Communications –
Saddle Up – Pat did not receive a drop shipment. Marsha will call Amy
Website – Barb
will be adding a Facebook icon to the page
- menu on left has been changed
- decided among the Board to have text information be kept available on the website for one year (minutes, events, etc.) and photos will be kept longer
- two new apparel items being added – bandanas and hats
Local Press –
- Marsha will do a letter to the local papers thanking businesses that donated to the SHTRA Annual Meeting
Membership –
forms will be mailed to Connie
Draft Horse - Gary
- Gary handed out flyer about the Plow Days for review, new flyers will be prepared.
- Gary was guest of Jody Pollok-Newsom on the “Michigan Farm and Garden" television show
- Ichabod Crane weekend, camp-over on Saturday night, drive in the park at 10:00 a.m.

Unfinished Business:
Gator - Tried to bypass red tape to get gator fixed by repairing gator without approvals. Tim from the park called Gale and told him to not fix it for fear that the park may have to turn in the gator regardless. Tim then suggested that SHTRA do a letter of intent to DNRE that SHTRA will fix and maintain the gator for a minimum of two years at our expense, and Tim would present it to DNRE for approval. Motion by Carrie, support by Pat to create a letter of intent for repair and maintenance of the 6X4 gator (VIN # W006X4030208) to DNRE for SHTRA to repair and maintain said gator for a minimum of two years. Motion carried. Carrie will prepare a draft letter for Mike to critique.
Jackets – Two people expressed an interest at the annual meeting to order jackets. A sheet was passed at the table for Board members to indicate the jacket they would order. Tabled to March meeting to see if better prices can be found.
Bench – Gale taking care of the repair of the bench.
Events – - April 18 Rotten Egg Hunt – 2:00 PM children’s hunt, spectators welcome.
- May 23 Rangers, camp-over on Saturday May 22. campfire/hot dog roast Poker Run on Sunday
- Gale hosting July 4th camp-over on Friday and Saturday (7/2 & 7/3)

New Business:
Ionia Sistership – Suggest SHTRA have a camp-over at Ionia on August 20-22. Reservations can be done online or via phone.
CIS Meeting – February 10 in Owosso.

Other: Thank you from Pat to Barb for all of her help with getting the images on the bandanas and everything else Barb has done for SHTRA

Motion by Sue, support by Barb to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 PM.
