Meeting was called to order by President Marsha Putnam at 7:03 P.M. at the Pavilion at SHSP.
Directors present: Marsha Putnam, Sue Chant, Pat Brown, Gary Fortin, Gale Moore and Barb Drake.
Directors absent: Val Lau, Mary Mallory, Janet Phillips, Lonnie Buck, Mike Wood, Jackie Fisher and Connie Fry.
Members present: None
Marsha presented the agenda which was accepted by all.
Minutes of the May 12th meeting were reviewed and two corrections were made. Upon a motion by Gale Moore and seconded by Sue Chant the minutes of the June 9th meeting were unanimously approved as corrected.
Marsha presented the President’s report. The well in the staging area has been closed due to high bacteria counts. Tim Machowicz stated the State will pay for repairs. On July 15th from 3pm-6pm at the boat launch, the DNR will have an Open House concerning the proposed new road for the boat launch. A survey will be available and this is our opportunity to comment on the proposed new road, SHTRA use of the abandoned old road and trail expansion. There were left over monies from the June 20th State Park Anniversary Cake Fund that the Park will use to purchase a banner. Tim M. clarified that any workbee hours earned can be used at any campover. Marsha received an email from a non-SHTRA member. Upon a motion by Sue Chant, seconded by Gale Moore, and unanimously approved to table for more discussion.
Vice President-no report.
Pat Brown presented the Treasurer’s report. There were no receipts and only one expenditure for $13.77 for a scrapbook album. The ending balance in the checking account was $7,720.53. Upon a motion by Sue Chant, seconded by Gary Fortin and unanimously approved to accept the Treasurer’s report.

Committee Reports:
Membership - no report
Michigan Horse Council - no report..no meetings until September
Communications - Web site–adding some new summer pictures. Update event calendar for additional
campover nights. Equine Times-article due by 7-20. Saddle Up-nothing to add to calendar as currently
published. Local paper-Gary F. to notify paper about Drive in the Park and that spectators are welcome.
Draft Horse - Everything falling into place for Drive in the Park on July 18 & 19.
Expecting about 6-8 carts and an equal number of Teamsters. Friday & Saturday night campover with pancake
breakfast, ride/drive, potluck and 50/50 raffle.
2009 Events - All other events, DAMN Ride, CMO, etc are “on” and progressing as planned.
Trails & Workbees - Rescheduled from May, the July 11th Workbee will fix the East Loop V-culvert
that was washed out in the extremely heavy rain we had two weeks ago. Will also haul gravel to various areas
that need it. May be limited in what can be accomplished since only have one gator available.
Next meeting date was set for September 8, 2009 at 6:30pm at SHSP Pavilion in Equestrian Staging Area. Upon a motion by Sue Chant, seconded by Pat Brown, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:24pm.
