Meeting was called to order by President Marsha Putnam at 6:38 P.M. at the Pavilion at SHSP.
Directors present: Marsha Putnam, Sue Chant, Pat Brown, Gary Fortin, Gale Moore and Barb Drake.
Directors absent: Val Lau, Mary Mallory, Janet Phillips, Lonnie Buck, Mike Wood, Jackie Fisher and Connie Fry.
Members present: Diane & Marv Karsten
Marsha presented the agenda. Additions were made which were accepted by all.
Minutes of the July 7 th meeting were not presented due to desktop’s location of document
President’s report: Correspondence with Tim Machowicz boat launch road in final review. Sec. Denise wanted estimate of volunteer hours by Sept. 30. I presented an estimate of 1220 hours. Webmaster Drake corrected with 500 hours for website maintenance and member contact. Mailing of 2009 State of MI Non-Profit report filled and corrected.
Vice President-Sue Chant reported on Ichabod Crane donations.
Pat Brown presented the Treasurer’s report. There were deposits of $1,328.00, expenditures of $129.22 bringing our balance to $8,919.31. Noted the generous donation from Sleezy Barb Horsewear from Summer Splash CMO. CD’s holdings of $20,000.00 secured. Treasurer Brown was asked for an accounting of 09 campover monies to State of Michigan. Motion by Chant, seconded by Moore to accept and file Sept. 8, 2009 treasure’s report.

Committee Reports:
Membership - none
Michigan Horse Council - Moore report discussion of Expo Trail room location. J. Ligane report of
MDOT / Fed. Ruling of 5’ black on trail tops. MHC hosting of 09 OVETS- scheduled for Oct. 1-4 cancelled due to lack
of affordable insurance. Some discussion of House Bill #4610 & Passport bill. No motions taken
Communications - Web site–Drake reported on web action and possible assistance to Ionia Trail
Group. New Pictures posted to web. Equine Times- Putnam inquired about information due 9/20/09 and posting to
local media with Ichabod Crane information for increased attendance. Chant and Fortin to contact Woods for news
releases.
Draft Horse - Fortin reported Wagon Rides to City Kids was handled by himself. 200 kids
present. Reported wagon damage by vandals. Park to help pay for repairs.
2009 Events - Ichabod-Fortin reported that 6 teams of Druthers, Luther, Hunt, Stickle, Goodrich,
Fortin were coming. J Wheeler was to be contacted. Putnam informed that Meares and Wallace would be Ichabod
and Katrina. Chant, Drake, Putnam, Moore volunteered food for pancake breakfasts. Chant volunteered to find
pumpkins, candy,ect…Karstens lead discussion for pumpkin bowling, creepy box, count the eyeballs, ect.. for 10/ 11.
Putnam would contact D. Campbell for singing.
Trails & Workbees - None.
Old Business: Tabled- Unused monies from Cake fund. Tabled- discussion of bridge back off.
New Business: None.
